Local councils are encouraged to provide outside non-Scout groups the opportunity to use their camps and facilities. Rental of properties can be reserved, provided that such use does not interfere with Scouting operations.
The insurance program is available from K&K Insurance through USl-Colorado. To take part in the insurance program, local councils are required to enroll in the program prior to the first event. To enroll in the program, complete the Non-Scout Group Insurance Enrollment form along with a one-time deposit premium of $345, payable by check to USl-Colorado.
Once the local council is enrolled, the council has the ability to purchase individual event insurance coverage. If the rental group cannot provide proof of insurance, a separate insurance policy is available to the local council and non-Scout group in order to mitigate any claims or losses against the council. Use the Non-Scout Group Event Insurance Form to enroll the non-Scout group's particular event in the coverage.
The deposit premium will go toward each and every event enrolled afterward. Once the deposit premium of $345 is exhausted, future events would pay the minimum premium, and any additional premium depending on the number of attendees, including a $15 RPG fee.
