Founded in 1952 by Nord and Teddi Krauskopf, K&K Insurance began as a benevolent fund for injured race car drivers. Leveraging their deep understanding of motorsports risks, the Krauskopfs grew K&K into a leading provider of specialty insurance for the motorsports industry, including racetracks, promoters, associations, race teams, and sponsors. Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, K&K was also active as a racing team owner and sponsor, achieving:
- NASCAR Grand National Championship in 1970 (with Bobby Isaac and Harry Hyde)
- 28 land speed records at Bonneville Salt Flats
- Pike’s Peak Hill Climb Championship (with Bobby Unser)
- A closed-course world speed record in 1971 that stood for over 13 years
Today, K&K remains one of the largest providers of motorsports insurance, continuing the founders’ legacy of innovation and dedication.
